One year ago, I began this blog to help promote the music history book I was in the midst of writing – Music Titans – 250 Greatest Recording Artists of the Past 100 Years – a multigenre treatment of the most consequential recording artists of the past 100 years (1920s – 2020s). The list was compiled by creating an algorithm that considered 3 categories – 1. Popularity (as measured by record sales; live concert ticket sales & reputation; longevity); 2. Impact- musical and cultural; 3. major Honors and Awards won. Each of the 250 artists is profiled with a brief biography, a discussion of their music, and suggested songs.
The book is now available (as an eBook, with the paperback releasing and in your hands in less than 2 weeks, on March 5) on all major online platforms- Amazon, Barnes & Noble, Walmart, Kobo, Apple, BookBaby (my publisher), and more. Not a lot of reviews in yet, but so far, nothing but 5-Star reviews.
If you want to explore my blog, you will find some of the artists featured in the book, perhaps approached from a slightly different angle, as well as such features as an overview of each decade and what were some of the most important records of the era.
I’d be honored of you purchase and read my book, and, if you like it, tell others, and maybe leave a review at Amazon or Goodreads or the site of your choice. Thanks!
